Bev, Mark Wright and a Sharpie
In 2018 I met Mark Wright (Apprentice Winner 2014 – not the other one!) at a business conference in Bristol. Mark is the Director of Climb On Line, the business he set up with Lord Sugar following his Apprentice win. (www. climb-online.co.uk)
Now in ten years of business I have come across many entrepreneurs, speakers and business owners of many sized businesses, however those who take time out to chat to others, to willingly encourage and support others are often few and far between. Mark; I have to say; is one of them.
It takes nothing to be kind and as I explained on social media this week, to mark World Kindness Day on Wednesday my mum’s advice is always ‘If you can’t say or do anything kind, say or do nothing at all’.
It is my mission through life and business to always reach out to those who need a helping hand, I actively work as a volunteer in many areas and look to do an act of kindness every day. I do this because the life I have today is truly blessed, it is my way of showing gratitude for that and it is also my way of paying forward the kindness that has been shown to me.
I pride myself on my integrity and was told once by my accountant that as a person, a business owner, an author and a speaker I never change, whether in person or in my writing I remain the same authentic person. Since meeting Mark I have attended a couple of his events and seen him speak at exhibitions, during these I have witnessed his authenticity, he always takes time out to speak to those who want to chat and ask advice and the golden nuggets of information he shares can transform businesses if people take action.
So whether in life or business my advice to you is to always be authentic, be kind and always be prepared to help others, I can assure you, you will feel richer for it.
PS – He wrote on the bag – ‘To Bev, my business partner in making life happy for all’ – great mission statement don’t you think?
