Different Perspectives

In the summer of 2024, my husband and I spent a weekend in London—a city that has always felt like a second home to me, alongside Ireland. However, for my husband, it was a bit outside his comfort zone. In all honesty, I now feel the same way!

In my twenties and thirties, I thrived on London’s hustle and bustle—the crowded streets and packed underground were energizing. But as I've grown older, I find it all a bit too much. Now, I long for the peace of the countryside. Still, we had a fantastic time—enjoying good food, exploring the city, and attending a show at the O2 Arena.

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the London Eye. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it! The day was warm and clear, offering breathtaking views of the city. Seeing London from above was a wonderful reminder of how perspective can shift everything. The iconic landmarks—Big Ben, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Tower Bridge—looked different from the wheel, and it was exciting to plan our route for further exploration.

Riding the London Eye made me reflect on how often we get stuck in a situation, thinking that where we are is where we must stay. But if we take a step back, reassess, and shift our viewpoint, solutions often become clearer. Life can feel overwhelming, but a change in perspective can reveal new paths.

In life and business, the way we approach challenges often shapes the experience. Two people can face the same difficulty, but one might see it as a manageable hurdle while the other feels defeated. After our ride, we walked across Westminster Bridge, and my husband was surprised by how tall Big Ben was—it had looked smaller from the London Eye.

So, the next time you feel overwhelmed, take a step back, change your perspective, and remember: one step at a time.
